First of all, i agree that Harajuku is a very cool place to hang out, but just to clarify to the answer above me the styles that were called goth and emo and punk aren’t actually those styles. The styles are actually called visual kei, oshare kei, decora kei, and gothic lolita, etc. Also i wouldn’t call a Japanese person who lived in Japan those styles cuz 1. they may not have any idea what those styles are and 2. a lot of people on the Internet have said how annoying it is that people call them those styles when they have major differences between them Harajuku is the name of a train station in Japan.

A cardigan is a sweater that opens in the front and attaches with either buttons, hooks, or a zipper. Cardigan sweaters are thought to have originated in 17th century France and the British Isles, where fishermen wore heavy, hand-knitted woolen sweaters. Fondly known as fishermen’s sweaters, the industry of knitting the heavy sweaters soon became popular on the coast of Ireland. Fishermen and outdoor workers sought out the expensive cardigans that kept them warm during the harsh North Atlantic winters.
